One of the most uniquely beautiful things about rugby is the diversity of the players which is an essential part of what makes a team complete. No matter what size, shape, height, speed, or skills you have, there is always a position in which you play an important even crucial role in the team. Rugby is an impeccable example of how 1 Corinthians 12 is a true description in which diversity is not only desired, but necessary for a unified and complete team or body to function in excellence!
In 1892 the first-ever French rugby union championship, a one-off game between Racing and Stade Français was played. The referee was none other than Monsieur Pierre de Coubertin ... the revivor of the modern-day Olympics! He introduced rugby union to the 1900 Summer Olympics at the games, and was at all the Olympic games until 1924 coincidentally the last time the Olympics was held in Paris! It was again re-introduced to the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Now in 2023 on the 200th anniversary of rugby, the Rugby world cup 2023 is coming to France!
France's internationally renowned cultural significance and influence will be on display for all to see. So no matter your passion, skills, or desire in seeing the kingdom of God built in France, whether in and through sports, recreation, fitness, music, creative arts, or justice and mercy ministries, we want you and need you!
